1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?

Went under sedation.  I've never had operations of any kind before.  And yay, now I get to do it again tomorrow.  *shudders*


2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I didn't make any last year and probably won't this year.  At least not in so many words.  I often try to generally resolve to be a better and more productive person, but I do that all the time.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Er.  *thinks*  Actually, yes, my grandmother.  But she'd been in the nursing home with Alzheimers for like six years, so it hardly seemed to count. 

5. What countries did you visit?

Only other parts of the U.S.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?

A girlfriend.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

January 1, when I woke up on my cousin's couch after staying up most of the night eating chocolate, watching Chocolat, and got about four hours of sleep with a big cat attempting to snuggle up to me.  It was a good time. :)

Aug 11 when we were in the car for 13 hours going to Ohio.

Dec 22 when I got my wisdom teeth out.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I can't think of any major achievements.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Well, no big failures, either, so I guess it's not too bad over all. :)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Some, perhaps?  Shoulder problems.  Wisdom teeth out.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

New pyjama pants. 

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Eor's.  Because he's unfailingly wonderful and dependable.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

I don't want to talk about it.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Living expenses.  The rent and food.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

That's three reallys.  I don't do three reallys. ;)

16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2006?

Nagasaki as sung by Hugh Laurie.  I've listened to that a lot this year.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder?  Happier, I think, oddly enough.
II. thinner or fatter?  Thinner.  Though probably not for long the way I've been eating.
III. richer or poorer?  Probably somewhat poorer, due to my sudden health problem.


18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

looking for a girlfriend Writing. 

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Whining.  Procrastinating.  Wasting my time.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Opened a very few pressies, and then went to work.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006?

No, unfortunately.

23. How many one-night stands?

I don't do those.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

I don't watch TV.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

No, I don't really hate anyone.

26. What was the best book you read?

Hard choice, but I think Christopher Moore - "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Jesus's Childhood Pal"

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

The Brian Setzer Orchestra.  Shut up.

28. What did you want and get?

New pyjama pants.  Tea.  Books.  Lots of hugging and loving from Eor.  I'm fairly easy to please. :)

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

"A Prairie Home Companion."  Shut up.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 40, and that would be August 11 when we were in the car for 13 hours on the way to Ohio.  :)

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Finding a girlfriend for us, or writing a book. 

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?

90's Slacker crossed with Upper Middle Class Casual.

34. What kept you sane?

Eor.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Hugh Laurie.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

The erosion of our rights.

37. Who did you miss?

Oh, gosh.  Looks to Alaska, Teena, my grandmother.  Lots of people.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

I met a bunch.  I'm kind of at sea with this question because it asks me to compare people, which I can't do.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006?

I don't know as I learned any life lessons that I didn't already know.  I had a few things reiterated.  Mortality got reiterated big time.  Live each day as if it were your last, because one day it will be.  I used to think that if I knew I was going to die I'd like to do one big thing I'd be remembered for, but now I think I'd like to finish writing a story or two.
