I have rediscovered soy sauce, and have consequently eaten far too much rice this morning. You ever notice how 'yum' sounds like umami? My tummy is distended. :P
Meanwhile (and encouraging my overeating, I'm sure) I've been reading Other Worlds to Conquer. It's a comparison/contrast story jumping back and forth between Alexander the Great and Lex Luthor's lives - an ambitious undertaking. I'll be honest, I thought it started out a little clunky, at first I had to push myself to go back and read more, but now I'm totally hooked. It is, I believe, one of the author's first attempts at fanfic and probably lacks a bit of the polish her writing now has, but it's not bad at all.
Now must accomplish some things... Not least of which:
mizzmarvel, the stuff I ordered for you came in the other day and I have to box it with the other stuff and send it out, so hopefully you'll have a package in the mail soonish! :)
ETA: My damned left hand, where they put the IV in it on Monday, hurts so bad at times, and it's doing this thing of the vein randomely poofing up or denting down and appearing reddish or sort of lavender. But it hasn't started turning 'black,' yet, or sending a line up the vein. I'm watching it.
Yes, I know I'm a wuss about pain.

Also, soy sauce. I remember being like 10 and eating more soy sauce than rice, almost.

A)It came
and
B)I'm starting to dig myself out from under the bad-
health induced gloom enough to even consider sending things out. I got everything packaged up, today! That's your present, one for Looks to Alaska and a birthday present for Eor's Mom, plus a slew more holiday cards.
Er... yeah. It's halfway through January and I'm still not done sending out the holiday cards. It's been a bad year, but I absolutely refuse to just give up on them, completely. I still have people I want to send cards to, but I guess I'll just make them generic greeting cards, not winter holiday cards.
