...it just isn't here.  An article about some Australian comedian's trial for 'offensive behaviour'.  The judge found him not guilty, and here's the key reference: She agreed that a number of people approached by Licciardello found his comedy sketch inappropriate but that did not mean that a reasonable [emphasis mine] person would be angered or outraged by it.  So very often we hear of judges in the U.S. apparently assuming that anyone who complains is a 'reasonable' person.  Meanwhile the majority of people you know are looking at each other and going "what kind of nut complains about that?"

Oh my Internet connection is being painfully slow, today.

So overly nervous about the doctor's appointment.  I should channel some of that into making food and showering and being ready, but of course my reaction has been to first lie in bed awake for an hour and then when I got up prepare a cup of incredibly rich hot chocolate with tea... and then follow it with another.  It's not that I don't want to be ready, it's more that I'm convinced that readiness requires some huge amount of caffeine and chocolate in my system.

In a completely unrelated way, I <3 [livejournal.com profile] eor madly. ;)

Dammit, now my connection has gone down completely.  How annoying.  I probably won't be able to post this, which means I'll just have to keep compiling it until my connection comes back.  But of course I won't be able to do my fic roundup for the past week, either, so you'll just get subjected to my random rambling.  Heheheh. ;)

...

Yay, I avoided random rambling!  I read more "Sick Puppy," stretched, showered, ate, read fic, and went to my doctor's appointment.

And... drum roll, please... the diagnosis is...

All cancerous cells seem to have been eliminated! :)  *phew!*  Now maybe I can actually tell my family.  Well, you know.  I didn't want them to worry.

Of course the sedentaryness since having the wisdom teeth out and subsequently the chunk of cervix out, coupled with the fact that I never stop eating means I've gained five pounds, and I managed, somehow, to forget to ask the doctor if it was okay for me to go back to the gym.

(On the weight issue - I totally recommend the Lipotrim progamme. If you did the full version for two weeks, which is the minimum the designers recommend, and then the maintenance version for a month, you'd probably have lost at least eight-ten pounds. I found that quite rejuvenating as regards making me go out and exercise!).

Apparently I just eat more calories than I can burn up without exercising. I love to eat - I think I'd go nuts drinking a shake for all my meals. OTOH, on occation it might make things much easier, not having to find food when I forget to pack lunch. Maybe I should get some.

Today I feel ever so much better - I spent 45 minutes on the treadmill! :)

*snugsnugsnug*

Hot chocolate with tea, really? How d'you make that? (Incidentally, do you have Whittard in the US?)

Really I just put it all in the cup and let it sit for a few minutes - I discovered it's best to take the tea bag out before violently stirring in the hot chocolate mix because the tea bags can break and little tea leaves don't go down so well. I use regular hot chocolate mix and sometimes an extra teaspoon of Girardelli chocolate.

And then I add canned milk. Because I'm a cretin like that. ;)

What a GREAT idea. I am totally trying that some day. :) Do you think it would be equally nice with white hot chocolate, or would it just be gross?

I've never tried it, but in fact I don't think I've ever even seen white hot chocolate! I suppose if you like white hot chocolate it would probably be just as good. (I'm not a big fan of white chocolate.)

I'm so glad about Chas being let off. The Chaser (the show he is on) are such a funny team and we need people like them to be always satirising the media and politics... it would've made me sad to see him get into serious trouble. Their risk-taking is a relief to everyone who gets dissatisfied with the state of things!

Feel better soon, love. ♥

Oh, the diagnosis makes me feel a lot better - and I went back to the gym today and spent 45 minutes on the treadmill, which also made me feel loads better! :)
