I went from posting almost every day to, this week, not posting at all.  Not sure what's up, really.  Well, I suppose it might have something to do with the depression equation, although I seriously misdoubt any study commissioned by Sky Travel which suggests 'saving for a holiday' as a remedy for depression.

Anyhow.  What.  We listened to that Loose Digits CD this evening; I think it's very pretty stuff.  Eor fixed my CD player.  He says I'd turned off... something.  That doesn't make sense to me.  It used to be I could click on it as one of my drives and it would at least show me what was in there.  But, it seems to at least somewhat work, now.  So of course we're playing the CD on the stereo.  Why I don't do that myself I don't know.  Well, yeah, I do.  I'm terrified by his system with the stereo/TV/DVD/VCR etc.

We had a lovely late afternoon/evening; went for hot chocolate at Starbucks and then to the Museum.  Perused the Goya exhibit in detail and cruised through most of the rest of the exhibits.  Goya was some cool shit, though I wasn't sure on some of the contradictory explanations.  A man after my own heart - I think he hated everyone. ;)  Well, he seemed to support The Poor in general, perhaps, and sometimes he seemed slightly in sympathy with the prostitutes.

There was also a painting of an aerial view of Dragon Cement (Cianbro) which captured my attention, and then I was delighted because I was always fascinated by that plant every time we drove past it.  It had a forbidding castle like aspect to my childish view. :)  What I linked to above is not the painting, but it gives you an idea of what I saw as a child.

Okay, time for that work story!

My most recent trainee, V, got completely signed off this week, but last week we were pushing hard to get her last few minutes of time in to get her ready for sign-off, and right at the end of the day on ... Wednesday, I think it was, she knew she had to get only one more PWD (Persons With Disabilities) in order to have her time done on that section.  She was on the Walk-Through Metal Detector right at the end of the night, and it was very quiet, when suddenly she began bouncing up and down and waving her arms.  "[Derien]!  Female PWD!"  Everyone commented that they'd never seen anyone so excited to do a PWD.  I peered around the equipment (I'm not tall) and saw that it was a woman with a walking cast on her foot, grabbed something V would need and scampered over there to watch over her.  The woman walks through, hands V her boarding pass and I started thinking, "Crap, this is going to suck.  She's going to get all flustered and not be able to get through it without help," because I recognized that the passenger was Glenn Close.  But V was all cool and completely collected.  Ms. Close started to say, "Oh, I've had this done a million times already, you don't have to tell me," and I just let her know that V needed the practice because she was in training, and Ms. Close was all smiles, very obliging - everything went perfectly.  After we were done I pulled V aside because I began to have a feeling she maybe hadn't quite looked at the name on the boarding pass.

"Do you know who that was?"

"Who?"

"Glenn Close!"

"Gwen who?"

I actually just thought of another possible reason I haven't posted much this week, though.  I've been going to the gym! :)  Yesterday and today, anyway, and I think Tuesday.  (Just so you know, I write these posts all out of order.  I don't think in this orderly a fashion.)

Okay, time for bed.  Eor's been making plans for our camping trips for this summer and he found that the Camden Hills Campground is only $34 for 2 nights!  So we'll go there on my birthday, which means I can invite my Dad down to the campground and we can go up to his house the next day so Eor can see it. :)  *crosses fingers that Dad doesn't make other plans*  I'll have to write to him.

Anyhow, Eor is beat, because making plans is hard work, and he just wandered off to bed, so I'd better go, too.

It's snowing!!  Great big huge flakes! :)

We see Glenn Close fairly often because she's married to a guy who lives here - some bigwig from Idexx - but even so I had to check her ticket to be sure, as I completely suck at recognizing people.

The snow is okay, but the cold is not so great. Nor the salt and sand that we track in and has to be swept up every other day.

The gym... *sigh* I need to get on my way there for today. I've got a bunch of things I need to accomplish and I should be coming back from the gym by now, not just leaving. :P Still, I went... what? Four days in a row, I think.
