I went out yesterday to find cough medicine and grape juice for my poor, sick
eor. There are probably eight little stores in convenient walking distance from our apartment. None of them carry grape juice. Wine, sure. In fact you could live well without ever going to a supermarket, if you wanted to live on wine and canned chilli.
At the laundrymat, today, I began to get a little tired of thinking about my story. But by the time I was cutting up chicken for dinner I was back at it. I've been thinking about it for ... um. *surreptitiously looks up the entry of Chapter One from last week* A year and a half. About. Well, it's a hobby with staying power, I guess.
Another odd thing happened at the laundrymat, today. The attendant - a woman who I have noted to Eor before as being quite pleasant and friendly - brought a pair of courderoy overalls to me and asked if they might be mine. And after I said they were not she went on to add that they had been in the lost and found for a long time. For some reason I thought, "This is my cue to say that if they aren't claimed I will take them," but for some reason I didn't say it - just thanked her for checking. Then wondered, later, if it was intended as an opportunity for me to give her my name and phone number, "in case no one comes to claim them." Hm.
We watched "Pretty In Pink" tonight, which I had never seen before. Yeah, I know - I've got to be the only person my age who hasn't seen it. I've got to say, I'm not that into the main character, Andie (Molly Ringwald), but Annie Potts' character - Iona - is hot. Now, Andy/Iona/Duckie triad... I could see that. I don't usually see femslash, but there also aren't usually such strong female characters who really come across as good friends.
