Hershey's Kisses aren't quite the same without the fortunes in them.  Those little paper strips had fortunes on them when I was a kid.  Of course my Dad had to read them to me, because I couldn't read, yet.  And right about the time I learned to read and was all excited to be able to read them on my own, they did away with them.  Just not fair.

The first time I went to the US, I really wanted to try Hershey's chocolate - it was mentioned in so many kid's novels! I was terribly disappointed :-( It was perfectly fine when I got used to it, but coming straight from Cadbury's it was a bit of a shock. I quite like it now!

Hee! It's really not particularly good if you have something to compare it to. :) I think of it as a kid's chocolate, a staple, and kind of a nostalgia flavor, but most of the time if I can get Cadbury's I'll go for that. :)
