Well, tomorrow is actually my birthday, but I celebrated today with my Aunt S. by bouncing around Brunswick all day indulging myself in what's probably actually fairly mild consumerism. The smallest possible gelato, a $5 book ("Best Gay Love Stories, 2006"!), a couple of long, leisurely cups of coffee at two different places, a walk across the footbridge that spans the Androscoggin river from the Bruswick to the Topsham sides - beautiful day! Too hot, but actually I suppose I wouldn't have made such a leisurely time of it if it hadn't been so hot that we needed to jump from one air-conditioned place to the next. :)

I have so many books that every time I considered visiting the library I would say to myself "Don't you already have enough to read?" But yesterday I was sorely tempted to buy an edition of "Fortune of War" which doesn't match the ones I already have for $15. So that make me think. Of course I'm still never going to be able to catch up to [livejournal.com profile] mandc_read, who are on #12, now, where I'm just about to start #6, "Fortune of War," but I can try.
