Yesterday was a big mail day -

1) Books that I had bought on abebooks.com arrived (two for my Mom for her birthday - which was last month, so I'm being true to my upbringing - and two for one of my brothers (Eightball) which I hope will help him with his new job - sometimes it helps your enjoyment of a job to read up on it, I think, and I've got to think this job is fairly dull for him.)

2) My new license: I had to get a new picture taken and it is the worst ID picture I've EVER had taken. I'm all washed out, the only color in my face is yellow, apparently reflected from my shirt. Guess I should have put on makeup and worn... I dunno. Brown? I thought a bright color would make me look better, but I guess I have an affinity for earthtones for a reason. I also should have smiled a bit more. I managed to for my last couple of ID pictures and they were pretty tolerable. Now I have to live with this until 2013, which is, like, beyond the end of time. I'm stuck with a horrible ID photo until the end of the world! (I actually had to call a Supervisor to look at a woman's passport one time - because, although we're not required to look at them, we ARE required to call a Supervisor if we see one that looks tampered with - because she had pasted another photo on it. "But the one they used was such a bad picture of me!")

3) Notices saying they have attempted to deliver a package two days in a row and it's waiting for me at the post office. (Although as Eor pointed out it's hard to believe they tried to deliver it on Sunday. I think they filled both the notices out at once and used different pen to try to make it look as though they were working harder.) But, Mysterious Package! I think it's from my Mom, who is acting all non-traditionally for my family and mailed it to get here in time. This is weird. Although she has an advantage in that her birthday is the month before mine, so she has a built-in reminder.

E-mails have been flurrying between Eightball and me trying to figure out when he's arriving, because he's on such a tight schedule. So cool, though, to have both him and our Aunt here for my birthday! (I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but we're all going to be camping at Camden State Park, in hopes that we'll be able to see the metoer showers well, there. :) )
