Did not sleep well. I'm blaming it on the coffee I had yesterday, because I started out so tired and spacey yesterday that I felt I wasn't giving full value to the trainee I had. Last night it took forever to get to sleep and when I did the slightest little noise would bring me awake in a panic.

I dreamed about reading a bad fantasy novel. Or at least it looked bad, initially, it had all the hallmarks of a really bad fantasy novel, but then something would happen and the thing would get turned sideways, and I started thinking, "Well, maybe it's kind of clever, really," and then being afraid it just consisted of cleverness and would have no real point and I'd have wasted my time.

Bad fantasy novels are a guilty pleasure of mine. I suppose I just love all the clihés so much that I don't mine (heck, I like it) when the novels are bad!

As long the female characters aren't sucky of course.

Oh, you and [livejournal.com profile] tronella! I did love her review of the one where the elves are racing with cars made out of magicked horses. :) Fact is, I know hardly anything about bad fantasy novels. When I read the back of a book there are certain phrases that catch my eye and make me drop it because I'm shuddering so horribly. One of them is "A woman as beautiful as she is talented," which featured highly on a set of books my mother bought for me and I haven't read yet - and that's why I stuck that on my LJ. The books might be excellent, but I can't get past that phrase and try them, as yet.
