#52) "Starship Trooper" - Robert A. Heinlein. I remain a bit confused. You have to serve in the armed forces in order to earn the right to vote, in order to prove that you put the good of society first. And you can't vote until you get out. But most people who have the most willingness to serve their society get killed and/or stay in until they retire and have a far lower probability of reproducing, so where's that breeding the species to? And war is at root morally good because it's a way to get rid of population pressures?
PS - Oh, wait... this fulfills the book a week requirement for this year. Now I can take on something really difficult. Hm. And I probably should because my brain is atrophying.
