I've got to get myself moving, again... and writing. Anything. LJ entries would be a start.

Seriously, huge <3s for all the wonderful cards and cheer and various midwinter celebratory presents I received!

From [livejournal.com profile] littleredhead - Delicious home-made gluten-free shortbreads and snuggly hand-made lapblanket (what was wrapped in the argyle paper....). (mmm, warm!) Handmade gifts always get top billing with me. ;)

From [livejournal.com profile] daegaer - A Crowley and Aziraphale story! I almost feel like this is a Christmas tradition, now, but it's one I really love. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] mizzmarvel of course sent me "My Dearest Holmes," by Rohase Piercy, which I had read long before the official present opening day.

From [livejournal.com profile] eor - Three Terry Pratchett books in all: The screenplay for the movie of Hogfather (which he gave me early), "Thud!" and "Night Watch" (which I must have read from the library since we didn't have a copy).

My Dad and stepmom sent me: candy; tiny, cute maple and apple syrups; and The Lord of the Rings Tarot - and there's rules for a game you can play with the deck - they don't seem to worry about anyone dying! :) The pictures are very pretty, and the descriptions on each card make me laugh - it's like some weird cross between a tarot and a 'Magic: The Gathering' deck. Fun! :)

My mantle* is just laden with cards - many more than I sent out, I think. They are cute and pretty and shiny and sweet, and it's wonderful to get them, but impossible to really describe them, for the most part, though I think I may make a stab with a couple...

[livejournal.com profile] kryptyd sent me a sweet card from the Limerick* Animal Shelter with a picture of greyhounds who were up for adoption, and in it was a flyer for the show her band, The Freebooters, played in Germany with Freiboiter, which [livejournal.com profile] eor says is a great representation of what a many-layered person she is. :)

[livejournal.com profile] daegaer sent one with Blackadder (the Fourth -WWI), Baldrick and Lieutenant George with the inscription "Peace on Earth" which I think is just wonderful. Everyone should have one.

[livejournal.com profile] tronella sent us one that's particularly glittery, and looks like a visual representation of "These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things," with eight different pictures, including polar bears. ;)

I got one from Dervla, who's current LJ nick I'm not even sure of at this point.

And otherwise it was mainly family, though my Mom and brothers are not concerned with specific days and take their time getting around to things. :)

*This apartment has a fake mantle with a mirror - no fireplace under it.

* (Ireland, not Maine, which confused me when I opened it - there's a Limerick in Maine and I wondered why their Animal Shelter would be sending me a card)

Those cards got glitter all over my face, my arms and Adam's bed. It was awesome! Adam was cross, though, even though it was my side of the bed, the fool.

Yay! (There should be something else arriving, but I was a lazy girl when it came to posting dates . . .)

I was really pleased with how those cards turned out :-)

Did you make it? *runs and looks at the back like she should have in the first place* Moo cards! You made it! *feels thick* Well no wonder it was so perfect... I was wondering where on earth you might have found something so perfect.

I had three types: the Blackadder and a Schwarz one (both with "Peace on Earth") and a Mithras Day one with a pic of a Roman statue of Mithras slaying the bull, and "In hoc signo vinces" inside (and "Happy Birthday, Mithras!" on the back :-)

Moo is great - not exactly cheap, but Christmas is but once a year!
