We had a wonderful January thaw for a week. It's over, now, and we're getting hammered with yet another huge snowstorm. I went to the gym, but barely made it there and back. (And wondered why in the hell I was doing that all the way.) Definitely leaving for work early and the car is going to stay there all night.

LooksToAlaska has been here for a couple of days, which is my most recent excuse for being short on journal content, but last night she took the bus to Bangor to spend today with a friend of hers there. If the buses are running this evening she'll be back, but it's always possible they may not be.

By the way - regarding the new Hershey's Kisses with the cheesecake filling: Don't get them. They are WAY too fucking delicious. You'll only want more. Like heroin.

Eor called - Bean's are closing the warehouse and sending everyone home.

The dr's office called to remind me I have an appointment there at 9:15 tomorrow. Presents a problem if I'm leaving the car at work tonight. Hm. Tomorrow's going to be a busy morning.

I'd better leave for work. Maybe if I go now they'll still have some breakfast pizza available at Anania's. ;9

Hope LooksToAlaska enjoyed her stay!

Are Bean's closing because of the weather? Sounds drastic over there...stay safe & warm.

[This is going to be another Maine-eque comment*, sorry...] The only thing I know about breakfast pizza is that Bill Bryson referred to it once, possibly as Exhibit A in his comparison of British and American grocery shopping...And IMO, it sounds rather a good idea. :-D Yum. (Hope you got some.)

And you have cheesecake chocolates... OK, this afternoon I was all set to move to Finland. Now I'm reconsidering in the transatlantic direction.

*On that note, I can't believe I forgot Stephen King. Humph.

Yes, Bean's were closing the warehouses because of the weather. (I'm sure the stores stayed open, though, because nothing should interfere if people want to give them money... oh, does that sound cynical?) Eor was a little annoyed, since he'd made it there and the snow was still coming down when they kicked them out.

I've never seen breakfast pizza for sale in a grocery store, as yet, and people who aren't from Portland area seem confused by it. The stuff I get from Anania's they make right there, and I think it's just about the best thing ever. :) It has no tomato sauce, just eggs and cheese (and then you can usually get sausage or bacon on top). And I think the crust would be more like Greek style, because I love it, and if I really like the crust of a pizza people usually tell me it's Greek. Which confuses me, since I guess I always thought that store was owned by an Italian family. Probably they're Greek and I'm just confused.

Unfortunately I wasn't early enough, yesterday, and I settled for a hamburger instead, which really wasn't anything like what I wanted. :( But they cook the hamburgers AND the buns in butter, which is quite yummy, though entirely bad for one's arteries. ;)

I almost moved to Finland, once. It seems similar enough to Maine that I didn't think I'd feel too out of water, but different enough to be exotic. Their archecture reminds me of Japanese style and the place names look like they could be in India, to me... I know, probably nothing like, but it amused me. In fact I read that the language is most closely related to Turkish. I didn't get far in learning it, though, because when I got involved with Eor and realized I was not moving there I didn't think it would be useful for me anywhere else.

A bunch of Finns moved to Maine a few generations ago, so you can find some old Mainers who can speak a little Maine-accented Finnish. :)

I haven't seen those ones, yet! I have some of the cherry cordial ones, though... Eor begged me to keep them seperate from his peanut butter ones, as he didn't want to get the wrong one by accident - he doesn't like cherry. I thought they were great! But the cheesecake ones... oh, seriously, don't do it.

This was in December and they were reduced at CVS, so might have been a Christmas special flavor. Sheesh they've really branched out - I remember when the Hugs or the Almond ones were the only special ones!
