Today hasn't been bad, but it's been kind of a mess, partly because of having the dr's appointment before work and being a little late from that, and partly because the offices are being recarpted, so we were kicked out of our breakroom and later had to clean out our lockers so they can move them tomorrow.
I ended up offering a co-worker some constructive criticism today,
I was put in charge of the baggage station I was working at, today, and when I went to lunch I ordained someone else to be in charge while I was gone. Another co-worker jokingly complained that nobody ever puts him in charge, so there must be something wrong with him.
When I came back from lunch I asked if he wanted feedback on what I think might be up with that, why they might not want to put him in charge, and he said yes, he did, very much.
"I think that when there's an opportunity for you to make a decision, you don't seem comfortable doing that."
Well, he went off for a minute or two about how he has had so many things standing in his way and he's been trying to overcome them and that not giving him a chance is not helpful at all and maybe he should find another job, and I said, "Hey, it's just my observation. Maybe it's an old observation." And we went on with work.
About ten minutes later he said "thank you," and said that, although it was a bitter pill to swallow that he'd thought about it and maybe there were things he could do to change that impression.
So! Hm.
