I'm obviously dreadfully uncultured, but I have to ask...what is cilantro? The pic looks like coriander. Are they the same?

They are, good eye! :) Cilantro is generally used to refer to the plant, and coriander for the seed, but not always. Sometimes you also hear "Italian parsley." But I only know this because I used to work at a grocery store.

Wonder if that's a US thing, as I've never heard 'cilantro' over here (then again, as I said, I'm uncultured! :-P)

Except for the fact that it tastes just like soap to some people. And as soon as littleredhead said that, just as I was tucking into my butter chicken (or korma, or whatever I had that day) I realized that, yeah, it DID taste like soap! I can put it out of my mind and it doesn't bother me, but if I think about it I want to pick it all off.
