I sat in the room to be 'available' (substitute proctor in case the manager had to leave) while someone completed a test, then I went to baggage and sat around down there for a while, then I went home early.

Then I drove home like a bat out of hell, changed my clothes and went back to Portland for Hawk's short white coat ceremony. (His school does this when people are going to start working with patients, and then a long white coat ceremony for graduation.) It was very nice, and I'm glad I went. :) They said a lot of good things about listening to patients and I hope people take these things to heart, because the fact that many people don't is something Hawk's mentioned before. He's said that when working at the hospital he got more information out of patients (because he volunteered and stuff while waiting to get into school) while taking their height and weight than most of the nurses ever did, just because he's happy to listen. And his coworkers tended to think he was wasting time, even though it took him no more actual time at all. :P

I hadn't thought I was going to be able to go, this was a last minute decision, and I'm glad I did - I could tell he was excited about this ceremony two weeks ago when he told me about it, and even more so when this morning he went and got his hair cut, special, and asked the hairdresser if she could make him look like Johnny Cash. ;) (Her idea was to spray gold glitter in, which he ended up deciding was maybe a little more over the top than he wanted to be, today, washed out, and then regretted, later. When I told him I almost put on my gypsy skirt, since I don't really have much in the way of normal dress clothes, he looked delighted at the thought and a little disappointed that I didn't. ;))

Eor is still playing his new sub game; I think I have to give up and go to bed, I need sleep badly.
