Morning came awfully early, today. When the alarms went off [livejournal.com profile] eor moaned, "Why? Tell me why?"

"Because life is cruel," I said.

Unrelatedly, my neck was a little twingy: On the way down to Cambridge, yesterday, I was trying to work on this place at the base of my neck where it felt as if two vertebra were mated. They didn't want to move, but I forced them to, and it was painful all afternoon. However, when I explained to the physical therapist about what I'd done she gently worked me through more of the same kinds of movements, and it seems I had not done anything wrong, just perhaps pushed it too much for the first attempt. Anyhow, they move, now! I'm delighted and amazed. I can hold my head up straighter than I've been able to in years.

I'm beginning to understand how people equate yoga with spiritual growth. Making yourself feel physically better makes you feel accomplished and happy. (I still don't really get the new-agey thing, but whatever.)

Glad to hear about the neck. I had mine jammed for years from a head first fall I took as a child and when the chiropractor unjammed it, I was a bit shocked, because it felt like I had a growth spurt.
