phlll... Call from my Dad. I'm not doing too well this morning. Got distracted, forgot I had a PT appointment, and rescheduled for a half hour later, got home, did a few minor cleaning up things, thought I might get some math practice time in, and the phone rang.
Nice talk, and found out that 1) my stepsister's older daughter, who I've never met, is going off to college next year, 2) and aunt and uncle of mine separated (maybe I had heard that before? I don't recall) and then all his stuff was stolen, and 3) when I was a kid most of our chickens were stolen from us. (And then the few that had escaped the theft later froze, but I think that was some time later.)
Also, the other day my aunt/Dad's youngest sister phoned (Sunday? I think) and she's getting all paranoid that a family reunion has been purposely scheduled on a date this summer when she won't be able to attend, so I had the opportunity to ask Dad about that. He says he hasn't heard a thing, so I think it's my aunt/their oldest sister being self-centered and not bothering to tell anyone her plans yet again. She'll tell us all just a few days before and then wonder why we hadn't already read her mind on it. The date being unusual (parties in our family usually being held around Lobster Festival time in the beginning of August and this sounds like it might be meant for Fourth of July weekend) is probably also just a part of her self-centeredness, as Eor suggested. She shouldn't be surprised if nobody shows up when she doesn't bother to communicate.
Whatever. Must get more food somehow before work. I have like ten minutes, gah! I had hoped to do some dishes. This is really not going well.
