Eor and I went out and got ourselves a new griddle the other day, because I had burned up the old one (and it was losing it's non-stick, so dangerous to be eating off of anyway). Also a spatula and a drink shaker. We thought long and hard about each purchase because the place we went is so expensive, but I stuck to my guns that I didn't want another non-stick griddle, especially at $40. Griddles, apparently, are out, so there were not a lot of choices. There was one cast iron griddle and it's HUGE and HEAVY, but I went with it.

Today I used it for the first time. Huge? Yeah. It's nearly impossible to fit on the stove. I don't want to keep it down where the other griddle was, for fear Eor's proven* right and I never use it because it's too heavy, so I leaned it up against the wall at the back of the counter. Ack. Well, with proper cleaning (hot water and a wipe down, most of the time) it should last the rest of my life, and maybe someday I'll have a stove which it doesn't take up the whole of. *sigh*

Watched ep 12 of RH+ over my breakfast. Can I just say 'aaaaaaaggggghhhh!!!!' ? Talk about cliff-hangers!

Ageha is disappeared by Makoto's father! He can teleport?? Can Kiyoi do that?

Ageha / Makoto is still my OTP, but Konoe says Masakazu looks as if he's in love when Masakazu says he wants to stay by Makoto's bedside rather than going out that evening.

And poor Masakazu's friend there, the human one who's name I can't remember (Haruha?), the one who practically cries when Masakazu leaves him alone at the coffee shop. Waiting for Masakazu fruitlessly. He's obviously madly in love. Triangles all around.

I've stooped to the point of trying to get co-workers to watch the damned show so I can have people to talk to about it in RL. One had seen some dubbed eps, but never in order. Others are like "well, if I want to see it I'm sure I can look it up." Read 'no!'

Off to UPS, now, to pick up... something. New mice**, I think. One of Eor's belated birthday presents. I also ordered him a keyboard, but it hasn't come yet and I'm getting nervous.

*My spellchecker says there's no such word as 'proven' - is that true? It also says there's no suck word as spellchecker, but I'm less surprised about that.

EP 12!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!

Makoto's dad is awesome, in a mean and nasty way! (I'm not sure if he teleports or flies - he gets from on top of the water tank to in front of Ageha in a split second, either way).

Haruka is Konoe's first name - Takarada is Masakazu's friend (I'm assuming that's his surname, as he calls Masakazu and Konoe by their surnames. I can't find his name in the cast lists, alas). He's so sweet, and so clearly in love! (His confusion over the vanished "Mako-chan" makes less sense in the subtitles, which use pronouns where the Japanese doesn't).

You have to watch the last episode ASAP! It will leave you yearning for more :-)

I got, though, that he didn't have a clue who Mako-chan was, and so was upset that whoever that person was he was so very important to Masakazu. I take it he never gets any chance at all.

How can they leave us with only 13 eps, dying for more? I don't want anime, it's not the same. *pouts!* I'm going to watch the last one over my breakfast, today, and then it'll all be fanfic, but it will still be a hole to not see the same actors anymore.

Poor Takarada! I wonder how he gets on in the manga?!

It's incredibly frustrating there isn't more - there isn't even much of the manga (only one volume to date, and that hasn't been translated either officially or by fans), and there's no anime either. Maybe if the series did well in the ratings there might be an anime eventually - on the live action front though, it's probably a question of waiting and hoping something might be picked up later (years after a live action version of Antique Bakery was made, there is apparently a new version in the works, so who knows? Perhaps there may be more vampires for us at length).

I just think that nobody but the guy who plays Kiyoi can get Kiyoi right. The way he does the "I'm a hundred years old and incredibly suave and sophisticated and raising kids scares the piss out of me."

He's just really good. (And really pretty). If only the TV station would decide to make another season!

The episode where Kiyoi reads the family therapy book and blunders through that terrible motivational story makes me weep with laughter :-) Oh, dear.

Heee!! :D

("Is this story set in China or the North Pole?" ... "Now it's in Africa?") Poor Kiyoi! :)
