This has been a relaxing weekend, yet I feel as though I've been productive as well, and this makes me happy. :) It's a shame that summer is over, but it's time to rest a little, now, and that's not bad at all. I've mended Eor's jeans where he knelt in battery acid some months ago (they were brand new, too), and mended my sweater which I had bought for the class in LA and while I was there snagged on a pin that was stuck in the wall. (Grr.) I got the business casual clothes for the class put back in the back closet* - because they won't be used again for who knows how long - and ditto the Faire costume, aside from the blouse, which I just hand-washed. (And who ever heard of a peasant blouse made of silk? Kind of silly, really, but it does look nice. It's not shiny silk, it's like maybe raw silk or something. I'd be as happy or happier with muslin, but that's somehow what I ended up with.)
Yesterday I cooked a massive chicken vindaloo, today it's a beef roast and boiled potatoes - much easier, but it will provide alternate food to keep us from getting completely curried out this week. Possibly if I still have energy after dinner I might cook more apple crisp, although I've been awake for a looong time, I might have to go to sleep, soon.
What an exciting weekend, hum? But I've had enough of exciting for the moment, boring is good. :)
*Putting things in the closet doesn't sound exciting, but believe me it's a bit of an adventure. First you have to bushwhack your way through the underbrush of the closet, in search of the lost land of Back Closet...
