Pumpkin Chunking today was pretty cool. :) I was a little disappointed to find out they don't use the trebuchet to throw the really big pumpkins, just ordinary sized ones, and that the target practice is by the air canon which fires specially grown pumpkins (little white things with harder crusts than the usual pumpkin) but actually seeing the sort of damage the pumpkin canon does on a car is pretty damned impressive, and it was cute as hell to watch the little kids pull the string and toss pumpkins into the harbor from the trebuchet. They'd let two kids pull the rope to set the thing off if they would wear the orange hardhats with little pumpkin stems stuck on top. :)

And then I spent all afternoon making a beef curry, and now I have to pack it up for lunch and pack my uniform, because we're leaving at 4:30 in the morning - Hawk has to drive his mate down to the airport and his van is having trouble with the power steering, so I'll just get to work a few hours early and... hopefully write a chapter of my absolutely silly Star Trek fic that I've been working on. Guys, I'm such a dork, just so you know. I'm writing Spock/McCoy established, Uhura/Scotty open rel, and Sulu/Chekov eventual. Instead of, you know, the five hundred other things I should be working on. I WILL finish this one!
