I still haven't found that Jinjur story that I KNOW one of you mentioned receiving for Yuletide! Don't make me go back and read the whole week I was gone over again just to find it. *makes puppydog eyes* I beg you again, please leave recommendations for me to read?

I've been compiling a little roundup of recent fic readings, this morning:

Today's Yuletide reading...
The Adventure of the Expert Cracksman by Mary Crawford. A very acceptable (non-slash) Holmes mystery.

Today's non-Yuletide Christmas story reading...
Jeeves Makes a Move - Which was actually written three years ago by [livejournal.com profile] veronamay, and I probably mentioned it at the time, but I had completely forgotten it. Lovely and sweet Jeeves/Wooster first time revelation of feelings (no sex).

Yesterday's Yuletide...
Hamster's Long Weekend by [livejournal.com profile] tronella - well-written friendship fic about the guys from Top Gear. (I've seen all of two eps. :))

A Most Dreadful Christmas Eve by Traykor. Passable short hurt/comfort Holmes/Watson.

Sunday's Yuletide readings...
Bid Thee Welcome To My Heart by concernedlily (for Afrai) - quite well-written, but I'm sure I'm missing a whole lot by not knowing the source work, Susanna Clark's "The Ladies of Grace Adieu."

Secretly Lawyers by Scott ([livejournal.com profile] soda_and_capes) for [livejournal.com profile] entwashian - I don't know the source material on this, either ("Sugarshock"?), but I'm supposing that if one were a fan of it, this story would probably be true to it's source. I think it's probably well-written in it's particular genre, if that makes sense? I guess the point I'm trying to make is that this is a goofy, fun little story, and I'd probably find the source material unbearable. But if you like "Sugarshock" you'll probably find this delightful. :)

...

Now I'd better get moving - much to do before Dr's appt and then work. :P Not least - eat! During which I'll probably read more. ;)

Thanks! :D It seems my fandoms do not overlap yours by all that much, but often I'll read things I've never heard of and gain new fandoms that way.

People write Top Gear fic? After all these years fandom can still make you go WTF. Still, Clarkeson is one of my number one hate figures at the moment so maybe I should slash him out of pure spite.

o.O

Your shock is seconded, I had no idea either! Good heavens...

Well, I don't know about most people, but Tronny undertook the task because someone requested it. But this is also the person who wrote Kermit/Fozzie (and pretty convincingly, I thought...)

Oh, never slash anyone out of spite - that makes it sound like it's a mean thing to do. I always slash people out of admiration.

That is a freaky picture! (we have hand dryers at work that do that to my hands, it took me ages to get done playing with them when I first started there.)

Yuletide rec? I did rather enjoy [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan's 1918. Holmes+Watson/Lord Peter crossover, G-rated [with hints of slash], nicely turned prose. :-)

Thank you! I will definitely get to that as soon as I can! :)

The Yuletide Raffles stories are amazing.

I've only read the two written by belmanoir so far (I'm trying to draw them out...) but both of those are genius and perfect. I haven't enjoyed fanfic so much in a LONG time.
