I'm rather pleased that I've somehow managed to overcome my indifference to my surroundings to the extent of neatening up the sideboard and shelves below it a little in the past couple of days. Hoping this new impetus might continue for a while.
A scary-yet-interesting house deal showed up on Eor's search last night. $60K, no pics available. One fears the decrepitude, yet for that price we could afford to continue living here (or someplace similar yet in that area) and work on fixing it up.

jigsaw92301 let us know yesterday that his GF will have an apartment available, soon. Aaand... I know he told me where that is, but I can't remember. Someplace nearby, I believe, because he and the GF live in that building, and I know he doesn't live far away. Actually, Pheobe, this might be a thought for you and Dre, too, if they condemn your building. jigsaw92301? Can you drop a note with details?
