omg. We came to a (tentative?) agreement with the seller of the condo. Now we're in the insane period of trying to get all our paperwork and sh... stuff together in the next four days, before leaving for England. WTF were we thinking??

Tomorrow I'll be calling the person at the bank to set up an appointment to actually apply for our loan.

Wow! Congratulations!!! (It really is an awesome condo!) But don't panic; my guess is, once you get your initial loan ppw in to the bank, it'll take them the entire time you're gone to decide if they have more questions or need more info.

Just thinking... Do you think this means it would be a good idea to get a cell phone for over there in case you need to communicate with them at some point? I looked into it, and we can't use our US cells in the UK; different frequency and all that. :(

One of my coworkers tried to explain to me what sort of cell phone I would need to have it work in both the US and the UK - something about 4 bands - but I don't think I get it, nor can I imagine that I could get one set up and going before leaving. Last time I tried to get one for an trip to South Dakota the sales guy assured me it would work there and it did not, so I ditched it soon after and haven't had another. And there's not even this frequency difference between here and SD. So... I don't know.

even if you had one that would work think of the roaming charge! i'd just buy a cheap pay as you go as soon as you arrive or give them the number of your hotel
