Microsoft wants me to upgrade to IE 8. I'm still using 6.0 because I hated IE 7 so much that I made Eor reinstall 6 for me. But he says he's reasonably sure he won't be able to do that for me again, if I try 8, because 6 is just too old. I've seen what I think are the newest versions of Word and Excel, and they suck like the friggin La Brea Tar Pits. (Why on earth would you make it so that the most used functions are hidden?) I can't imagine this is going to be pretty.
Grr. I'm as bad as a three year old when it comes to change.

[I know what you mean about the reluctance to change. I get very attached to certin software apps myself. I think a lot of it is the physical memory thing, with the perpetual "Oh-crap-I-went-to-do-this-and-it-did-that..."]

Of course, it's not perfect (though the only real problem I've had with it is occasionally at work, when I've exited it, and I'll get an error message appear when I try to log back in again, and so have to restart the PC), but I find it a lot more comfy than IE.
Here's the link - you might like to give it a go!

Also, IE6 lacks a lot of the security stuff that the newer browsers like IE7 and IE8 and Firefox have, so you're vulnerable to shenanigans if you use an older browser--particularly if that browser is not supported anymore.
