I made it to Ellenville, NY State! Took 7.5 hours, it was dark when I got here, couldn't see street signs, stopped and asked for directions near the end. But I made it! :D Tomorrow we take Manhatten!

Also, got my hair clipped again, so it's similar to how it was early last summer, VERY short. Eightball took me to a salon here in town that he likes, though he debated later if I would have got a better price if he'd introduced me as his brother. Because guys pay less for haircuts, and I was basically getting a guy's haircut. :) LOVE the way it feels! It may be week before I have to comb it. ;)

Must get off this computer, horrible keyboard (common area in hotel, very beat up, with unlicensed software, apparently - the Internet Explorer icon is labeled 'Interwebsz' :)), takes forever and tires my fingers out.

Oh, I went to visit my brother in Ellenville (he lives and works at a resort) and then we went down to Manhatten for the day and I hung out with mizzmarvel (who was a very gracious host!) while Eightball visited with his girlfriend (who had flown in from California) and helped get things set up for the exhibition thingy his group ('school' they call it) was doing at Radio City Music Hall, which Mizzmarvel and I went to see in the evening.

sorry I've been so bad about getting back to my comments this week. I don't know what's been wrong with me.

I'm constantly amazed by how people in your country think nothing of 7 (or 10 or 14) hour drives! You would end up in the Atlantic if you drove for that long in one direction here!

Hee! Gosh, I think it would take longer than that just to drive from the bottom end of this state to the top. :)

In fact, Eor suggested I look it up on Wiki, and this is what I find:
Ireland: 81,638.1 km2 (31,520.6 sq mi)
Maine: 86,542 km² (35,385 sq mi)

Of course I didn't actually drive for 7 hours... I wouldn't have been travelling for 7 hours if I hadn't stopped so many times.
