Hawk was talking about the stupidity of some of the questions in different exam tests (he's studying to be a Physician's Assistant): "For instance, the question was something like, 'Three year old child presents in the emergency room with a dog bite. What do you do? A) Make sure the dog is killed and it's brain brought in for analysis, B) Treat for rabies...' and like that. Well what was the situation when the kid got bit? Was it on the street, some random dog? Or was it the family dog, because the kid was being a little bastard and poking it? In which case, KICK the kid and send 'im home! Tell him not to treat the dog like that!"
I think almost all the cards are done (if not quite sent out) and most of my (very few) presents are bought, although both cards and presents are pretty lame and sketchy this year. Or just exactly what they asked for. Some of you who I sent presents to last year, well, it's not that I'm not thinking of you. It's not even the lack of money, actually. No, it's more being so preoccupied with the new position that my brain just can't deal with this buying stuff.
And yes, I have officially got the position, though the pay raise hasn't come through as yet. :) Got the letter yesterday, and the Training Coordinator made sure I had logins for the training site by the end of the day, so today I got started on learning lots of things. One of which being Power Point - I glanced at the first two pages of the tutorial and decided I could wing it from there. The real challenge was making horribly written teaching text into something readable. I love hacking and slashing other people's writing. ;)
