I got some weeding done. And came in and sneezed three times right in a row. Back to the nasalcrom during the day and the tylenol PM at night because this allergy thing sucks like a big sucky thing. It's so hard to tell where the effect of having been sick leaves off and the allergies begin.

Cute line from a coworker, yesterday - she asked how I was feeling and I said this cold seemed to have a hold of me and not want to let go, and she said, "If I had a hold of you I wouldn't want to let go, either!"

Just when I figured out who Sable was (and thus Red as well). I didn't figure it out until the second time he showed up and it was pretty much spelled out for me (even though the prologue said they were going to be in the story). But then it was one of those great moments when you're reading a book and you just want to say to someone who knows "OMG!!"

I saw a spelling error in it this morning. Anathema was "pouring" over her maps. It can't be possible that the two of them don't know about that common spelling error. Then again maybe it was a (rather weak IMO) joke, since Anathema was drinking some miso soup at the time. Maybe I'm just not getting something!

Oh yes, I know what you mean - it's been such a very long time since I read it the first time, but I recall having a similar reaction when I realized they were The Horsemen. It was kind of clever, I guess, that they still managed to confuse me even though I'd been told. And then it took me even longer to see the paralleling of The Them - I didn't get that the first time until right at the showdown. Initially I saw Brian as Pigpen (from the Charlie Brown comics). :) (And I guess Pepper could be Peppermint Patty, but that seems a little too easy.)

"Pouring" could very well be intended as a pun - Pratchett does love his puns, no matter how bad. :)
