Title: Swept Away! - Two Boys' Adventures on The Great River (“With A Thousand Elephants!”) - A Pseudo Victorian Boys Adventure

Summary: In the distant future a group of settlers try to recreate Victorian England on another planet, with mixed results. Two boys from quite different social strata find themselves alone on a raft on an uncharted river.
Notes: My initial notes can be found at the top of Chapter 1, where the story so far is now archived on AO3. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but hopefully I'll get back to archiving it on my own site, soon.

Chapter 14: The Lodge of the Swamp People

I honestly don't know if I should admit that I posted this chapter, because it's too short, and then I wrote more after I posted it which should have been part of this chapter, so I think I should probably have waited and posted it all together. I could, I suppose, add that last bit right now and never tell you that I'd done any different, but... I also want to push on and try to stop being hung up on stuff. It can all get re-written later.
Also, I have honestly tried to think of the Whistlers as something other than wombats, and have failed. They look like wombats in my head. That might be because when I was a young teen I read Charles Fort Never Mentioned Wombats. I can't remember anything that happened in it.
