My birthday was Sunday, but I got sent out of town for training and spent Sunday evening (and three nights in all) in a hotel. Just got home this (late) afternoon. Because we ended up with a long day, today (I've been up since 2am - my work day was 4am to 3:30pm) we're having a short day tomorrow. Yes, we could have gotten paid overtime, which would have been a nice chunk of change and maybe we should have gone for it, but Moose and I volunteered to get out early, instead, probably just because time off felt like a precious commodity after such a long day.

Meanwhile, of course, all the people who sent me birthday greetings got radio silence from me because I was unable to use my web email, I don't know why. Well, I didn't even try to access it until yesterday, because I was so thrown off by everything, and then I could read but not send out from it, and then I had to sleep... and was largely not very successful. :P Anyway, I feel badly that I couldn't respond!

Moose and I did go on a little T adventure down to Chinatown on Monday and ate at "Penang" - pretty good, I thought. :) Yesterday we walked up to a little Italian sandwich shop a couple of blocks away from the hotel and I accidentally got a sandwich. Really - I asked for a few slices of roast beef and provalone, intending to do the roll-up thing Eor and I usually eat, but he thought I meant a sandwich and I didn't realize he was making that for me until he was almost done, and then did not want to waste the bread. Well, my stomach is always a mess when I travel, anyway.

Both yesterday and today I had lunch (at 8am) from one of the food stalls in the airport run by a very ugly Eastern European (I think?) guy with the sweetest smile, and very good food. :)

The training was great, but I'm really NOT looking forward to the briefing we have to give to our Director tomorrow. Moose gets to take point because he's much more comfortable with these guys than I am, and I would probably say something they won't like - such as, "I think we would need a lot more people on staff to make this work." The boss has already told me not to say that. I don't really get it.

Yeah, my brain is kind of a mess right now. It's about time to go pick up the (gf) pizza. No cooking this evening.
