- We had hoped there would be a viewing of our place, but no potential buyer materialized.
+ Our place is pretty clean.

- The guy who is younger and less experienced than me got the interview and didn't even have to go through the questions part. (While the woman who's older and more experienced than either of us DID have to do the questions part of the interview.)
+ I didn't have to get anywhere near that interview thing, and have not the least chance of getting promoted to a position where I'll be cut down like the tallest blade of grass.

And in the I don't know how to classify it category: My youngest brother has decided, as he nears 41 years of age (or is it 42?), to be known by his middle name, which is the same as that of a character in a very popular book and movie series, and I don't mean James Bond. As far as getting a loan at the bank it's going to be more like being named Neo. He gets to experience the same kind of confusion and unresponsiveness as I got when switching to my first name and the obvious nickname was that appellation of a creature hunted for sport and food. (Which can be understood as "I will do my best to remember and support him in his name change.")

On the very plus side - is there anything that could possibly be cuter than Apple from Nerd vs. Geek when she dances in her pink footy pajamas? (Here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T23c8hwW4V0 , starting at about 5:21.)

We found a hot water pipe in the cellar which was very loose and had at least four contact points when it moved... but putting it on hangers has not stopped the knocking. It's been getting worse, and someone's schedule has changed so that they're doing things with water at the time we're trying to get to sleep. Last night it sounded like some beast trying to wrack it's way out of a cage, and I would swear it went on for at least an hour.
