I know I never post, anyway, but lately I've been not posting much of anywhere because I've been a bit cranky about stuff. But! Tomorrow is the last day of the work week for both of us, and Friday morning we'll be packing to go camping and to King Richard's Faire, which makes me feel much happier at the moment. So, a quick roundup of recent events...
1) We had a showing today and will have one tomorrow. :) (We didn't have any for quite a long stretch and that was a further cause of worry.)
2) I'll be teaching a ton of classes, soon, for a little over the next three week stretch, starting tomorrow. Or rather two classes, over and over and OVER. Huge rollout of new stuff happening.
3) We had put in an offer, but did not get 20 acres in Auburn, because there was about $44,000 worth of work that needed doing right away, and when we asked for an $18,000 price reduction they didn't want to give us that. Foundation work was needed, there was no septic (collapsed in), knob and tube wiring, asbestos in the basement. Yeah, well. That barely scratches the surface of the problems, it was quite something. It's amazing the guy who lived there isn't dead, what with having a hole in the side of the chimney so that furnace exhaust was venting into a closet, and holes rusted through the soil stack so that methane was venting into the basement. (He'd run the soil stack into an unused chimney. He'd put plates on the outlets so they appeared to be grounded. Mother Mary watches out for fools, I guess.)
4) The van is in the shop with a gas leak, so we might end up tenting this weekend.
5) But Cyberquail will be there! Happiness will reign upon the land! :)
And that's about enough for tonight. I actually reduced this from 7 to 5 because it felt too complainy.
