All our bedroom stuff is now in the livingroom. We're contracting. Which is good, because the living room is much warmer than the bedroom, and the bedstead being gone the mattress on the floor was a little chilly. But it's a little tight with two bureaus and an armoire.*

Eor packed the scythe in one of our vehicles this evening, while I was making dinner. It was in the living room, and before moving the bed in there he said that it would be safer not to have it next to the bed.

I said, "Scythes don't kill people..."

"No. Tripping over them in the middle of the night kills people."

...

For some unknown reason I have a huge desire to watch a Lord Peter Wimsey mystery. Our TV and DVD player are gone and we don't even own any DVDs of Lord Peter Wimsey - we borrowed them from Doc, Eor's friend at work.

Doc and Eor loan (lend?) stuff back and forth all the time - currently he has Eor's whole CD collection until we get settled in, and he's having fun just listening to things alphabetically and finding musicians and groups he'd never heard of. It's unusual for him to find something he's never heard of. I guess he's bought a few new CDs lately, after having first heard them, or the group, in Eor's collection.

can't stop yawning, time for bed(730!)

*My spell checker doesn't like the word 'armoire.' It's set to UK English, I believe, so Eor's suggestion was "Maybe they don't have armoires in England."

Me: "Yeah. Right."

"I hear they have a shortage of smart asses, too, maybe they'll let me emigrate."
