It's so lovely to live somewhere that the water really tastes good.  I went to brush my teeth this morning and slurped up water from my cupped hands until I was sated - so nice. :)

All the stuff about calling cards aside, this book does have some very good points.  It points out that conversation is the primary venue in which people form an opinion of us, and suggests, therefore, that we cultivate an interest in every topic of interest to society, and a good memory.

I have the worst memory ever.  And very little interest in what the outside world is doing.  [livejournal.com profile] eor reads the news and can talk about it intelligently; I tend to listen and immediately forget.

The book suggests that one write down a summarization of lectures one hears, or events that happened during the day, just to poke the memory.  Sooo... journalizing is supposed to help me actually get a better memory.  It hasn't worked, yet.  Of course I really don't try to write down everything that happened to me during the day.  It would take far too much time, and space.  Basically, though, if I want a better memory, I have to work my brain like any other muscle. ;)  Meaning, I have to take the time to actually do it.  Every day.  Even if all you people on my friends list are bored silly by it. ;)  Well, perhaps I'll try to lock a lot of my entries so you won't have to read them.

So, let me start here.  I made a marvelous (I think) chicken soup, today )

JS and I got to share the spotting duty, yesterday, and it became a whole different thing.  It's completely different if you have a partner so you can take breaks easily and confer about people you're watching and process the person together, one person asking questions while the other does the bag check.  Such a good day.  Of course it was helped by me having that dr's appt to go to so that I was gone for almost three hours in the middle of the day - that breaks things up a bit, and a brisk walk makes one feel much better.

I may have said this before, but whole milk vanilla yogurt is SO good.  Damn, I can't stay away from that stuff, it's the one thing I really want to eat.  Or maybe that's just my body telling me that I need it right now.  Things are getting better, though. :)

You've probably seen [livejournal.com profile] eor's post about going off the gluten-free diet for six weeks.  This is so they can see if he gets gluten anti-bodies.  Or something like that.  So, last night we had pizza.  I've been so tired all week that I was really looking forward to sleeping ten hours last night, but I had to get up after only a little more than six hours because of how bad my tummy hurt.  I only had two pieces.  So what do I do, today?  After my tummy stopped hurting (sometime just short of noon) I ate another piece of pizza (around 2pm).  I had talked myself into it, thinking maybe it was actually the baba ganoush, salmon and green peppers which I had for lunch yesterday, or the chicken fried rice I had for breakfast.  And it still could be.  But I've asked him to get me in with the gastro doc, too, and get my antibodies checked when the six weeks is up.  *yawn*  Maybe if it does turn out that I also have a gluten problem I can learn to be more careful about my diet and perhaps that will help my feeling tired all the time.

Eor thinks I just eat the baba ganoush because I like the name. :)
