Had a schedule change because of my work change, and now my morning has to be so scheduled out that I literally, yesterday, went "Oh, yay! I have a half hour of "free time" between 0900 and 0930!" and then spent that finding my keys. And placing an order for powdered vegetables, so that we can make our own prepacked soups for backpacking, since you can't get both low-sodium and gluten-free.
Sucks getting home at 8:30PM and having to eat and go straight to bed. I don't sleep deeply until after 1AM. But I'm liking the relaxed pace of the afternoon shift. People sing on this shift, literally. :) Although it was a bit disconcerting when a flight attendant came through singing. Loudly. She was going off-shift because the flight she was supposed to be working had finally been cancelled after she'd waited for it all day. And I think she had flown in at 0300. One of the new immigrants from Africa muttered,"She shouldn't do that. This is Maine." I was like, yeah, he's right. He knows, and he hasn't even been here that long. We don't do that, here. We sing quietly to ourselves and our closest friends/coworkers. Go around singing loudly like that in New Orleans they might not notice, but in Maine someone might give you a breathalizer. Exhaustion can be worse than a few drinks, though.
