I just had my first ever counseling session. I've been sad, lately, and I think that's part of why I haven't been posting. Yeah, pretty much. Maybe I'll post about why, soon. But yeah... I think the talking helped a bit. I'll do it again, next Tuesday. I'm invited to do it in person next time, but I might stick with the video conferencing because driving over might take 45 minutes. I'll map it and see.

Anyway, now I need to go vote to close our library in order to save it. This is complicated, but I belong to the Friends of the Library, which includes the librarians, and the discussion seems to indicate this is the way to go at this time. It's a way to say "We're fucking serious, we are NOT going to accep the much reduced budget, you NEED to fund the library properly!" Cancel culture, we're all about it. The group of course is all women older than me (not working) and you do not piss off old ladies. They will bring it.

Thanks! Small town politics are so confusing. As soon as the votes were counted - literally the next day - the town board had the locks changed on the library doors so that the Friends of the Library can't sort books for the yearly book sale, which is the only other way the library gets money.

I'm sorry your sad. Counseling really helps over the long run. I've been doing phone and video sessions since the pandemic began. My therapist prefers phone, my psychiatrist prefers video. I like phone better because I'm distracted by looking at myself, which is never a good thing.

I tried to concentrate hard on looking at the person I was talking to. In person might be better in that respect. I get why they want to have the feedback of my expressions. Can you turn off the vid of yourself in your own feed?

On Zoom you can turn off your video. They won't see you, either.

As remember it, you are?\were not much of a phone person...
but if you ever feel like a call....feel free.. just not today
as I have to get another phone. Got caught in a fairly big
downpour.....and didn't dry my phone properly so it decided
to impress upon me the need for proper care.

But yeah, I'm still not much of a phone person.

I've searched for a while but can't find the animated icon I wanted to use. I think I've lost it. It was when the London bombings happened - was that 2005? It said something like "Bad day at work? Tea. Boyfriend left you? Tea. Terrorist bombings bring your city to a standstill? Tea." The first thing that happened of course, was people came out of shops and offices and apartments with blankets and tea for all the people coming out of the smoke of the Underground.

Years later some people said using that icon was 'insensitive', but at the time it was intended as a testament to the resilience of London. They know how to respond to a crisis, they have an unfortunate amount of practice.

You are a good sister, fearsome really where your brothers are concerned.....
The reading thing, I kind of get.......in my life I've gone periods of intense reading then almost none ......I suspect he is reading some ..for what his current life interest is .....You are trying to share &sharing as we all know can be tricky.....there's the gift of giving and the gift of receiving.
I am fond of both your brothers. They both seem to find what they need in
life......these times are hard because we are reminded life can be too short
and how fragile things are.
