...because the crud has stolen my voice. Therefore I must run off at the keyboard. :)
I actually lost my voice before the throat got really sore, but oh my god it's hard to believe someone didn't stick a cheese grater in there. Ouch. It was funny how it came on; I got up early to go to the laundrymat (by myself, because Eor wasn't feeling well enough to go out - so I spread the clothes out through more bags to that I wouldn't lift too much at a time) and got home around 10am. As I as at the laundrymat I felt the lethargy hitting, and by the time I was folding and hanging things at home I felt the first twinges of soreness in my throat. I got through making and eating lunch and then collapsed on the couch. Yup, I'd say this is probably the same fast-moving crud

groundctrl had - I don't think I recall anything coming on quite so quickly before. Eor says he's already feeling pretty much okay, during the day, so he just did the dishes.
He also put on a song for me, because it has one bit where the guy says "get that cheese grater going!" Hee. :) How often do you hear a cheese grater mentioned in a song?
He teased me that now is the time he should bring up any controversial subjects I don't agree with, and I called him a sadist - but I had to whisper the word directly in his ear because, seriously, I can't even whisper right.
Meanwhile, I'm reading lots of good fic and also Jasper Fforde's "The Fourth Bear," which is delightful, in a macabre sort of way. :)
And Eor finished doing his beta of Chapter Nine, so if I can focus enough to make the adjustments I might be able to get it posted tomorrow. Chapter Ten is already begun, so that's better than usual, though still not great. I can't actually write much while a chapter is with him for beta because often once I've considered his suggestions I end up taking the story a different direction.
