You ever notice that when you don't post for a while it seems as if there's nothing to say? Normally I'll write just anything, but now I feel as if it has to be "worthwhile." Stuff, though....

-- One of my coworkers who I like and talk with, HardCore, is leaving at the beginning of next month, during the week I'm on vacation. He got a better job, checking up on labor rules violations. I'm going to miss him.

-- Next week I have to teach my first Baggage class the first two days.

-- Wednesday of next week we go to Katahdin, which I do not feel at all ready for.

-- Saturday* I'm going to see the Pirate Invasion in Damarascotta with [livejournal.com profile] littleredhead! :)

-- Saturday, Eor has to work, because all the people in his office are stupid. *pouts* :(

-- I found some amazingly delicious granola, but it's wicked expensive, so I have been mixing it with rice (reheated with milk, butter, honey and blueberries) as a way to stretch it out. I've been alternating this with oatmeal for my breakfast the past few days, and my eggs have been languishing, unloved. I miss them! But I've been trying to get my ass down to Portland earlyish to move stuff out of the old place (how on earth do we have so much shit?) and clean and keep thinking that avoiding cooking real food will somehow help that. Ha ha, I'm just as bad at getting my ass moving as I ever have been.

Speaking of which...
-- [livejournal.com profile] kryptyd, I am enjoying the heck out of "Standish"! This is a fun book. :)

*Today is Thursday, right? My computer time got all screwed up by a power outtage, yesterday.
--We have nipple-stingingly fabulous water pressure in the shower, and the temperature rarely varies at all. :) (The old place I had got used to taking very short showers because the water would go icey on me with only a moment's notice. I got very good at hearing that slight change in tone that meant it was about to go.)

--Apparently the only way to keep a glass-topped electric range looking good is to not cook on it. After the first real meal we cooked (curried beef, on Sunday) there are spots that won't come off with the specially formulated glass-topped stove cleaner wipes or with dish detergent. Though the dish detergent worked better.

--We have a passive-aggressive neighbor who won't move his car out of my spot.

--I just got to see the Federal Railway Administration Office of Safety engine come by!
