Sodom is only about four miles from where we live. I could walk there.
I have called in sick. I feel horrible and I'm sure that, being the first day, I'm contageous, and my coworkers would probably prefer that I not give it to them, but every time I call in sick I feel guilty. I feel as though the person on the other end is automatically suspicious, and wonder if I should have laid back and hung my head off the side of the bed to make my voice sound really bad. Which is stupid - why should I have to fake things up so they'll believe me when I'm really sick? Gah. It's all in my head, right?
Anyhow, regardless of being sick I do have to deliver this bike, today. Eor's giving his old bike away, and the girl who's taking it lives in Portland, so I have to drive to Portland anyhow. I should not actually be driving, I think, but I'll take the slower route (Rt 1) and not do 70 down the highway. I may even detour through Sodom, if I can find the turn. :)

BTW, I'd like to thank Cyberquail once again for teaching me the secret of hydrogen peroxide as a stain remover. I had repeatedly used a comercial stain remover on the shirt that I stained with mud while moving bamboo, weeks ago, and had finally given it up, and almost written it off as being among my seconds forever - one of my favorite shirts, too - but finally decided that if I was writing it off anyway I might as well try the hydrogen peroxide. Two applications and it looks almost perfect. One more and it might, but I'm wearing it today. :)
