Though there's none in the forecast until tomorrow afternoon. This won't be the first snow fall (if we even get one) but the first did not stick at all. We've had ridiculously warm weather, and the windstorm (with rain), which took out our power for all of Tuesday, felt tropical.
The rain also washed a lot of the dirt from under the barn steps, but that had been loosened by moles already. Next time I fix that step I want to have some crushed rock to pour in there. (The moles have also mined around the tree stump up the hill to the point where my foot just sank right in when I was walking by. If this keeps up someone could break an ankle.) And the wind took down a tree up in our wooded lot, but again it was one we had marked to come down. Unfortunately it's hung up on another tree, so at some point we're going to have to engage in the tricky maneuver of bringing down a 'widowmaker.' I wish (not for the first nor the last time) that we knew someone with a team of horses.
