...but I have no interest in sending a message to her right now. My emotions are apparently still too caught up with the person who doesn't seem to realize I have a crush on her. And I'm all too aware of the fact that sometimes 'not realizing' is a polite way to say "I'm not really interested." I've been pining well over a year, now, I should probably move on.

I don't mean to sound bossy (especially when I'm no expert on ANYTHING) but just make sure that is the true reason you don't want to call her back, and indeed if it's reason enough. Because it would be a real shame if a good one got away just because of nervousness. You know how hard it is to find nice people.
